Kingpin of inter-state criminal gang from Jalpaiguri held in New Delhi

The kingpin of an inter-state criminal gang, Dharambir, was arrested here and pistols and cash was recovered from him, police said on 29^th November 2007. Dharambir, wanted in connection with about 100 cases of murder and dacoity was caught with three other associates, Chandan, Mukesh and Chintu Singh.The arrests came following a tip-off that Dharambir, a resident of New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, was to be near the Punjan National Bank branch at Nehru Place.Dharambir tried to shoot at the police, but he was overpowered and arrested. Police recovered 3 country-made pistols, Rs 3 lakh and mobile sets from them.
